Family Programs

Families develop a strong bond when they enjoy cultural activities together, such as music. PSO BRAVO! offers several family programs which allow parents and children to share in each other’s musical interests, have fun, and create special memories.

Festival of Music and Art
PSO BRAVO!’s Festival of Music and Art is a Saturday afternoon of family fun on the campus of Princeton University. It includes a PSO Family Concert at Richardson Auditorium and Art for Families at the Princeton University Art Museum, and is geared toward children ages 4 through12. The Festival of Music and Art met with a hugely successful debut this season, and will become an annual event.

Instrument Petting Zoo
Each year at Communiversity, Princeton’s town-wide festival of the arts, PSO BRAVO! puts on an “instrument petting zoo,” inviting kids of all ages to try out a variety of musical instruments with the guidance of expert PSO musicians. The hands-on experience sparks a lifelong interest in music and music-making! The PSO’s instrument petting zoo is also available for picnics, school fairs, and other events. Please contact the PSO office for more information.

PSO BRAVO! Around Town
PSO BRAVO! musicians, well known in local schools, also make appearances at places like the Princeton Public Library and the West Windsor Arts Council from time to time. At these very special PSO BRAVO! presentations, kids and their families are invited to learn about the instruments of the orchestra through stories and music.
