PSO BRAVO! Instrument Petting Zoo
Nassau Street, Princeton
Stop by our booth on Nassau Street and try out a string, brass, wind, or percussion instrument! PSO musicians and staff will be there to guide you!
Free and open to the public. Communiversity ArtsFest is coordinated by the Arts Council of Princeton.
Beyond the classroom and the concert hall, PSO BRAVO! teaching artists are engaging with children and adults to make classical music a fulfilling part of everyday life.
Instrument Petting Zoos
Each year, PSO BRAVO! sets up its famous Instrument Petting Zoo at sites around town, including the Children’s Book Festival, Princeton University’s Community & Staff Day, and Communiversity ArtsFest, inviting kids of all ages to try out a variety of musical instruments with the guidance of expert PSO musicians. This hands-on experience might spark a lifelong interest in music and music-making! The PSO’s instrument petting zoo is also available for picnics, school fairs, and other events. Please contact the PSO office for more information. Photos…
Pi Day Princeton
Princeton’s most famous resident, Albert Einstein, was an amateur violinist! In his honor we partner with the Princeton Tour Company to celebrate music-making by the very young, with our Pi Day Violin Exhibition. Preschoolers and their loving public join us at the Princeton Public Library for violin games and solo performances. Photos…
Meet the Orchestra!
PSO BRAVO!’s flagship classroom programs have also been known to pop up in community venues, such as the Princeton Public Library, the West Windsor Arts Council, the Institute for Advanced Study, and Barnes & Noble. Be sure to check out the free PSO BRAVO! Holiday Concert at Princeton Public Library Saturday, December 10!
Communiversity is Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 1 – 6 pm. Come visit our PSO BRAVO! Instrument Petting Zoo booth in front of Nassau Presbyterian Church! Our musicians will guide you as you get up close to our tame, if occasionally loud instruments. You may even want to produce some music of your own using one of the instruments available. Photos…
