Mary Schmidt

Flute

MARY SCHMIDT earned a Master of Music in Flute Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in New York where she studied with Harold Bennett and Harvey Sollberger. She also took classes with Julius Baker, Thomas Nyfenger, and Marcel Moyse. Mary is the former principal flute with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, and currently performs with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, Princeton Pro Musica, the West Jersey Chamber Orchestra, and various free-lance groups in the Tri-State area. She has taught at the University of Tennessee and Rutgers University, and currently teaches flute in the Princeton area.  

She appears on the CD A Tribute to Otto Leuning on the CRI label and on Jon Magnussen: Music for Limon Dances (Albany Records).
