Internationally renowned conductor and Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Edward T. Cone Music Director ROSSEN MILANOV looks forward to collaborating in 2024-25 with established and emerging artists of the orchestral world and helming the PSO’s popular June performing arts celebration – The Princeton Festival. Respected and admired by audiences and musicians alike, he has established himself as a conductor with considerable national and international presence. In addition to leading the PSO, Mr. Milanov is the music director of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra.
MELANIE CLARKE has a long career in non-profit and arts management. A conservatory-trained violinist, she worked for the Princeton Symphony Orchestra for 25 years. While a member of the orchestra, she founded the BRAVO! education program and subsequently served as PSO's Executive Director for nine seasons before retiring in 2015. She led the Princeton Symphony's transformation into a flourishing enterprise, winning national recognition for artistic excellence, community engagement, collaborations with a wide range of civic and cultural partners, commitment to new music, and extensive and innovative music education programs. Melanie was chair of the board and acting managing director for the Highland Center for the Arts, a performing arts center in northern Vermont. There she managed the startup of operations and planned Highland’s inaugural season of theatrical, musical and educational performances. She is the board chair of ARCO Collaborative, an artist-driven non-profit which advocates inclusivity in classical music. She is a trustee of the League of American Orchestras and chairs its development committee. She attended Oberlin Conservatory and holds degrees from Wellesley College and Harvard University.
