To better protect your privacy, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) provides this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. This privacy policy is intended to provide you with information about how we collect, store, and use personally identifiable information obtained through our website. 

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted via the Princeton Symphony Orchestra website. On some pages, you can order tickets, make donations, and register for events via the purchase of individual tickets or ticket packages. The types of personal information collected at these pages are: Name, Address, Email address, Phone number, Credit/Debit Card Information, (etc.).

On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you order tickets or season packages online and want them sent directly to the recipient, you will need to submit the recipient's address. In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected are: Name, Address, Email address, Phone number, (etc). Similarly, if you donate in an individual’s name, we will need to collect Name, Address, Email address and Phone number so that we can send acknowledgement of your gift to the honored individual.

The Way We Use Information

In general, personally identifiable information collected through this website may be used by the PSO to allow purchasing and shipping of tickets, subscriptions, and memberships, process donations, communicate with you, register you as a user, inform you of upcoming events, request your support through donations, enable you to participate in special promotions, develop, maintain, and improve our products and services, or administer our website.

We may make personally identifiable information available to other select organizations, including but not limited to, resident arts companies, visiting performers, arts organizations, affiliated organizations, agents working on our behalf, and companies or organizations with whom we have a contractual or sponsor relationship. We may also provide aggregated data to these and other organizations. We may use the information we collect for institutional research. Although we may make reasonable inquiries to determine that such other organizations maintain website privacy policies comparable to ours, we are not responsible for the enforcement of such policies.

We may disclose personally identifiable information if we believe in good faith that we are required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, a subpoena, or other legal processes. We may also disclose personally identifiable information when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone to protect the safety, property, or other rights of our users or the public. In addition, we may disclose or access personally identifiable information for administrative and other purposes that we believe are necessary or as otherwise provided in this privacy policy.

Secure Ticket Orders and Donations

We do not store credit card information. All online ticket orders and donations are recorded in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database system which is maintained by Patron Manager, a division of Salesforce.com Inc. We are PCI Compliant (Payment Card Industry Compliant) through a company called Trustwave. This means that the technical and operational standards that businesses follow to secure and protect credit card data are provided by cardholders and transmitted through card processing transactions. 

The PSO collects and uses information about people with whom it communicates.  This personal information must be dealt with properly and securely however it is collected, recorded, and used whether on paper, in a computer, or recorded on other material.  To do this the PSO follows data protection principles outlined in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). 

The PSO regards the lawful and correct treatment of personal information as very important to the successful and efficient performance of its functions, and to maintain confidence between those with whom it deals. To this end, the PSO fully endorses and adheres to the Principles of Data Protection, as set out in the Federal Trade Commission Act. 

PSO E-notes

We offer an opportunity to subscribe to E-notes, an e-mail newsletter for the exclusive communication with our patrons. Once you have subscribed to E-notes, we may send you a regular electronic newsletter to your email address advising you of upcoming events, milestones, giving opportunities, and general communications about the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. If you register or purchase tickets for an event or donate to the PSO, you will receive our E-notes newsletter. You will have the opportunity to opt-out or unsubscribe at any time. 

Third-Party Service Providers

We may engage reputable third-party vendors in order to help us manage our website and allow us to better service our visitors and customers. These may include third-party vendors engaged to analyze, for marketing purposes, the information collected on our website.

Along these lines, we do use Google analytics for tracking website statistics to monitor how the website is being used to make improvements.

We never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured specifically to attract anyone under 13.

Do Not Track Settings

Due to software complexities and resulting challenges, our website does not respond to browser do-not-track signals.
