Exploring Bach's Musical Offering

YOCJ logoIn 2021, then PSO Assistant Conductor Nell Flanders explored Bach's Musical Offering with YOCJ students. The five-week course included guidance from Ms. Flanders on the structural patterns and intricate musical themes and motives Bach interwove throughout Das Musikalische Opfer (The Musical Offering). At some sessions, students gained insight into performing and recording the work through input from professional Princeton Symphony Orchestra musicians.

Ms. Flanders coached the students on preparing their own video performances so that they could practically apply what they learned. The successful results of the students' hard work and practice can be viewed here:
