$25 per person; wait list for both ceremonies.

In advance of the June 14th Madama Butterfly performance, enjoy an authentic tea ceremony presented by the Omotesenke Domonkai Eastern Region and the Princeton Festival. This special event honors the traditional Japanese tradition of Chanoyu, the ritual preparation of matcha. Through choreographed interactions between the host and guest, this refined art form fosters a deep appreciation for the fleeting moment, expressed through seasonal aesthetics and carefully selected utensils.

More than a set of formal procedures, Chanoyu is a living culture that evolves with history. At its heart, it is a meaningful "communication of minds" shared over a single bowl of tea.

Register now for one of two scheduled events, space is limited to 25 guests per presentation. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
