Closed Captioning

Closed captioning is a process in which audio is transcribed into text. The text is then divided into caption frames and synchronized within the video to match the audio. Text includes both spoken words and non-verbal sounds.

When is this provided automatically?
Closed captioning is available for all On-Demand performances.

If not automatically provided, how do I request this service?
If you would like closed captioning on any virtual performance, please contact ADA Coordinator Kitanya Khateri at least 2 weeks before the performance date.

Restrictions:
We can only provide closed captioning for virtual performances (broadcasted or on-demand).


Transcriptions

Transcription is the process in which speech or audio is converted into a written document.

When is this provided automatically?
Transcriptions are available for all audio recordings of pre-concert talks.

If not automatically provided, how do I request this service?
If you would like a transcription of any pre-concert talk or Soundtrack, please contact ADA Coordinator Kitanya Khateri at least 2 weeks before the event date.

Restrictions:
We can only provide transcriptions for events that contain elements of speech.
