Seven Deadly Sins
Multifaceted artist Storm Large portrays the role of two Annas–one, a sensible singer and the other, a passionate dancer–in Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins. Vocal quartet Hudson Shad serves as the chorus. Rodion Shchedrin’s Carmen Suite for orchestra completes the evening.
Due to the nature of the lyrics and adult topics, this performance is not appropriate for children under the age of 10.
“Storm Large was more than just the icing on a bittersweet cake as the tall, sinuous Anna of The Seven Deadly Sins… Svelte and dangerous, Large’s Anna I controlled their progress with natural ice and fire, every word keenly inflected without a hint of overkill […] Large’s final litany of what a girl needs to suppress to make money before Anna returns, broken, to the folk back home was spine-tingingly climactic… A perfect masterpiece, perfectly done.” – The Arts Desk
