Albert Herring
Sparkling comedy and Britten’s witty music combine to satirize English country life. Village leaders choose Albert (tenor Joshua Stewart) to be May King when they can’t find a girl virtuous enough to be queen. Just one drink breaks repressed young Albert out of his shell, causing hilarious mayhem. Partly set in an English country garden, the opera is ideally suited to Morven Museum & Garden! This production is sung in English with English titles.

There is also a 5pm pre-performance talk with Prof. Timothy Urban at the Stockton Education Center. Free and open to the public. Picnic on the lawn between this event and the opera!
